This picture is on the site elsewhere but as Anne took the time to send it I will include again. It shows Connelpark when the Smithfield building was a single storey structure, with the barbers pole clearly visible just beyond the bridge. The miners rows are present and the Gatehouse on the left at the crossing |

Turnbull's is now Loves baby shop, some of the Castle buildings have gone such as Sturrock's building but Henderson's, Radio Doctor's. Post Office and Golden Stairs are still present. |
