This picture was supplied by Andy Roy who lives in New Zealand and is an ex New Cumnock lad. Taken at the Dungavel deep mine training school, it features at least two men from New Cumnock. Andy is at the back on the far right and Jimmy McCulloch is on the front far left.
Dungavel House we believe was once the home of Sir Harry Lauder, and since its function as a Coal Board training centre passed, it has been in use as part of the prison service as a low security prison. If you can name any of the others in this picture or supply a date, please let me know. Thanks to Bobby Rogerson for information
